Meet the Team: An Interview with Steven Fisher

Steven Fisher serves as the Brand Manager for Capital360, formerly known as two brands—Capital Coating and Capital Roof Care. As a second-generation family businessman for nearly 10 years, Steven has seen many changes since his father founded Capital Painting in the late 1990’s.

Launched at the end of 2025, Capital360’s vision is to be the most respected and reliable commercial and industrial contractor in the Northeastern United States. The principles on which Capital360 was built—client satisfaction, high-performance materials, and attention to detail—remain the company’s focus.

Anyone who owns or manages a commercial facility knows that several specialty services are required. Capital360 serves as a one-stop shop for all these needs, including:

Since Capital360 has evolved over the past 30 years, we recently sat down with Steven to ask him some questions about the company. Here are his responses so you can learn about him and why Capital360 is your “go-to” commercial facility service provider.

Please explain the evolution of Capital360 from its infancy as Capital Painting.

Merv Fisher is the CEO and the founder of the business. He’s also my Dad. Back in the early to mid-1990’s, he was in business with his Dad, running a painting company. They performed work on barns and agricultural buildings. Merv split from his Dad’s business in the late 90’s.

Merv then started his own business, Capital Painting, focused on residential and agricultural painting. As the years went on, he started getting into roof coatings. He was one of the first people in the area to apply commercial roof coatings to buildings to extend their lifespans. It’s much cheaper to apply a coating than it is to perform an industrial roof replacement. This was the early 2000’s.

One time, he was in a meeting with Sony to do work on a manufacturing facility. He was proposing a roof coating product. A representative from Sony looked at his business card and saw it said “Capital Painting.” The guy was confused and wondered what was being painted. Merv realized that the name of his company was holding him back, so he renamed his business Capital Coating. He then became involved with all types of commercial and industrial coatings for tanks, pipes, and industrial equipment. From 2004 until 2018–2019, we continued to operate as Capital Coating, providing painting, coatings, and epoxy flooring to customers.

In early 2020–2021, we expanded again and began doing roof replacements and standard re-roofing. However, we struggled to differentiate ourselves in the marketplace because everyone saw us as a commercial roof coating company. So, we created a sister company, Capital Roof Care, a full-service roofing business that provides commercial roof inspections, maintenance plans, restoration, emergency repairs, and replacements for all commercial roof types. From this point forward, we operated as two companies with two brand names—Capital Coating and Capital Roof Care.

Then, in 2025, we began realizing that operating as two brands was creating more confusion in the marketplace. So, in mid-2025, we decided to bring everything under one name. Merv took some time to reflect on this, taking a two-week vacation for the first time in 20 years. During one of these weeks, he went on a silent retreat with no electronics. After this experience, Merv felt the Lord lay upon him that the company’s new name should be Capital360.

Tell me more about Capital360 and the services it provides.

Our primary core services are roofing, coatings, and flooring. In roofing, we provide a full range of services, including repairs, maintenance, inspections, roof replacements, and roof coatings.

When it comes to coatings and flooring, we focus on commercial and industrial applications. Painting and coating are important because these actions extend the lifespan of structural assets and prevent metal from degrading. Regarding flooring, we are well-suited to helping businesses in niche markets, such as food, manufacturing, and pharmaceuticals. Within these specialty areas, oversight by the FDA is required, and there are laws and standards governing cleanliness. Serving regulated markets is our core focus, and we specialize in adhering to strict requirements.

As Brand Manager, what are some of the key strategies you oversee?

At this point, I oversee everything for marketing and branding. I also have partners I work with—other outside businesses I tap for help. It’s good to draw others in so we can work together and benefit from one another’s strengths.

Tell me a little more about Capital360’s services in roofing, painting/coating, epoxy flooring, and sandblasting. What are some interesting projects you’ve been involved with?

We have done some really cool stuff over the years. We recently completed a 300,000-square-foot project for a cannabis-growing facility in West Virginia. We didn’t try to price gouge them. A lot of other contractors were jacking up their prices for the work. This customer really appreciated the fact that we provided them with good solutions at a fair price. As a result, we built a really strong relationship with them.

We have also done a lot of work on schools over the years. One of the prime relationships that we’ve had since 2008 is with the Delaware Valley School District. We serve the entire district and have saved them millions of dollars by providing roof coatings. An architect who worked for the school district said they had to replace a roof, which would have cost an exorbitant amount of money. Capital Roof Care applied a 15-year coating to the roof, and that warranty expired within the last 5 years. The roof is still solid! We are now applying another coating to it.

What types of facilities and industries do you serve?

Unlike many other contractors, we love working in regulated industries. This is our niche. Any industry that requires detailed paperwork or regulations that need to be followed is our specialty. We provide outstanding work. The industries we specialize in include pharmaceutical, education, warehouses, cold storage, food manufacturing, quarries, and anything heavy industrial or heavy equipment manufacturing.

What geographical area do you serve?

We operate heavily in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and New Jersey. Outside of this area, we also service Washington, D.C., Delaware, Virginia, and New York. We are especially strong in any area within 2-3 hours of Lancaster County, Pa.

What makes Capital360 different from other companies?

Service, communication, and value. I think we provide an especially good value. We are not the cheapest out there, but we provide really good work for the price. Other companies have their own product line, and they like to make it fit every project. Capital360 takes a different approach; we are more consultative. We ask our customers, “How can we build the right system for your project?” Then we find the best solution so our customers get the longest lifespan and the most value from their building systems.
